CARDIOVASCULAR TECHNICIAN (CATHLAB)


General Requirements

· Diploma or Degree in Cardiovascular Technology

· Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a hospital setting

· Registered at a licensing authority

· Good English communication skills

· Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required


Job Specification

· Monitor patient’s intra cardiac pressures and ECG whilst patient is undergoing procedure

· Report operating clinician of any adverse reactions during the procedure

· Responsible for cardiac massage and defibrillation in the event of a cardiac arrest

· Prepare emergency pacing equipment for temporary pacing in the event of an emergency

· Assist to perform the procedures including angiography, PCI, CTO, IVUS, Rotablation, pressure wire, peripheral PCI, temporary and permanent pacemaker implants

· Assist cardiologist during non-invasive procedures in Cath lab, ICU & Diagnostic

Department

· Responsible for patient registration, file work, maintaining the consumable stock, report preparation and patient scheduling

· Responsible for the maintenance, quality assurance and infection control of any equipment

· Liaise with relevant medical, nursing and clerical staff when required
