Marine Electrician
Job Summary;
Responsible to attend and rectify the maintenance and repair of marine electronic systems on marine fleets operated by Sultans of the Seas. Work involves rectifying faults, installation, maintenance and repair of AC and DC generators, switchboards, distribution panels, water makers, ice makers, lighting and alarm circuits etc.
Job roles and duties;
- Trouble shoots, electrical equipment, detect and effect required maintenance, repairs, or replacement requirements.
- Performs maintenance and repair of generators, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, electrical motors, distribution panels, alarm and lighting circuits.
- Conducts insulation resistance measurements of electrical cables to determine condition and effects repairs or replacements as required.
- Participates in the installation and/or alteration to electrical systems aboard the vessels.
- Adequate inventories of electrical spare parts and requisitions replacements as required.
- Maintains electrical system maintenance histories notating date, and extent of repairs and/or alterations. Assists the marine engineer in the preparation and inspection of electrical repairs performed by outside contractors and during annual shipyard overhaul.
- Performs related duties as required and requested by the company.
- Should attend for all the general maintenances and other engineering duties.
Skills and Competencies;
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities, Considerable knowledge of marine electrical systems and required maintenance and repair needs.
- Knowledge and skills of repairing of marine electrical systems using the manual with the help of diagrams and the instructions.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices involved in the installation, maintenance, repair and alteration of marine electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
- Skill in detection, diagnoses, maintenance and repair of marine electrical systems.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing complex marine electrical systems problems.
- Field education and knowledge with minimum four years experience in electrical and electro-mechanical systems maintenance and repair preferably with one year on marine electrical systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Remuneration & Benefits:
Basic Salary: USD700.00 per month.
