The Mirihi Island Resort is a very successful, unique, elegant and small boutique hotel, located in the South Ari Atoll in the Republic of the Maldives. 36 tastefully appointed villas are spread over the island. We have 1 Main Restaurant, 1 Over-water a-la-carte Restaurant, 1 Main Bar and 1 Sunset Cocktail Bar (included in the Over-water Restaurant). Besides that, we spoil our guests with a very professional dive-centre, some non-motorized water-sport equipments, with a wonderful sailing yacht and with a small and elegant SPA area. But the most important is our personal and unique service – as unique as you!
We are famous for our excellent cuisine, which is one of our USP’s. Our two previous expatriate Executive Chefs stayed with us for 2 years each, but due to a family emergency our current Executive Chef had to leave Mirihi only after a few months. Therefore, to complete our experienced, dynamic and successful team, we are looking for an
EXECUTIVE CHEF

Who we are:
A very unique and elegant, yet laid-back niche-product in the middle of the Indian Ocean
A resort to be rated as a 5* boutique-resort with a year-occupancy of around 90%
Our guests are mainly from Switzerland, Germany, the UK, Japan and Scandinavia
Overall year we have close to 45% repeating-guests
The Mirihi Island Resort is a privately owned company with three owners (two Maldivians and one Swiss)
We are one of the most successful resorts in the Maldives and we are operating with an international team with around 140 team-members (staff to guest ratio is 2:1)
1 Main Restaurant with 80 seats inside or 80 seats outside on the terrace, very close to the beach
1 Fine-Dining Over-water A-la-carte Restaurant (including a Cocktail Bar) with 18 seats and an amazing sunset-deck
1 Main Bar with separate sundeck
What we expect from you:
The full guidance of our well trained kitchen-team of about 30 employees (together with a very experienced Sous-Chef who is in Mirihi since 4 years)
An excellent knowledge of international cuisine with experience in a similar position
To train and develop daily your team and to increase the quality and standard of food and services
To plan, organize and lead all kitchen-related special events like private BBQ’s, excursions on our sailing yacht, special theme evenings in our A-la-carte Restaurant, etc. together with our Restaurant- & Bar-Manager
To handle all administrative duties like the staff-planning, the international purchase and the creation of new buffets and a-la-carte menus
What kind of person you should be:
An out-going, dynamic, professional leader with excellent communication skills
A natural team player providing a very personal and unique service to our guests
You should have very good skills in English (in speaking and writing) and a second language would be appreciated
Some working experience on an Island or generally in the Asian area would be an advantage
