International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), a Delegation, wishes to recruit staff for the following post, on a fixed term contract.

Post 01: Watsan Community Mobiliser
Required no.: 01
Contract period: 06 months with possible extension
Salary range: Mrf 4500/- to 5500/- depending on qualification and experience
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

Become familiar with the IFRC water and sanitation programme goals and the principles behind the design of the sanitation and rainwater harvesting systems

Support the goals of the sanitation programme through planning a community in mobilisation plan on five islands

Prepare information materials to support the mobilisation programme with messages ­and sanitation management

Facilitate workshops, training programmes and information sessions in communities conjunction with American Red Cross with the purpose of achieving better community understanding of water resource management, sewer system management and water conservation

Manage any staff or volunteers located on the islands with the purpose of implementing the community mobilisation programme

Assist in conducting community information sessions for all Watsan programmes in both Dhivehi and English

Monitor the construction of the IFRC sewer systems on site as required

Represent the IFRC in the field including Liaising with Island Development Committees
Chiefs, Atoll Chiefs, IFRC contractors and the community at large

Qualifications & Experience: Minimum O'Level, but A'Level or Higher Degree preferred computer skills is essential, water & sanitation related experience will be an asset

The candidate must be fit and willing to travel between islands and work for long periods without supervision. Post is mainly Male' based (70% in Male' and 30% in the field). When traveling to the field, daily allowance plus accommodation cost will be covered.
